Description

The shamans of the Yakut people of Siberia had many iron pendants attached to their ritual coats. Three rounds discs, hanging from the back, were among the most important of all. They represented the sun, the moon and the entrance to the other worlds. The light of the iron sun and moon could only be seen by the shaman. With the help of the three discs, called the kusjanga, the shaman would never have to fear he/she would get lost.
On the CD, a melody I learned in a dream opens the door into the other world, and at the end of the journey the same melody helps you to return to daily consciousness. In between are melodies and songs I improvised while doing healing sessions for clients in the studio, using voice, drums and rattles.
